With the development of China's 2025 strategy, the step of upgrading manufacturing industry is speeding up step by step. Realizing automatic production is the foundation of upgrading manufacturing industry, and industrial robot is an indispensable link in automatic upgrading. In a broad sense, automatic devices that can be programmed freely and can replace humans are considered robots. Due to the late start and the backward key technology, the industrial robot of China's own brand has not yet formed the industrialization of scale up to now.
Due to the diversity of automation demand in manufacturing industry, not all automation applications need high-end robot. Therefore, at the present stage, economic robot is also an important direction in the development of robot industry, such as gantry industrial robot, SCARA robot (planar axis robot) and delta robot, etc. According to different applications, they can give play to their unique application advantages.
Gantry industrial robot is also called cartesian coordinate robot. Because of its advantages of low cost, simple structure and easy to group lines, gantry industrial robot has become one of the most widely used automation forms in machining automation.
Due to the diversity of parts, it is difficult for gantry industrial robots to carry out batch standardized production, so they need to design and produce according to the specific production line, and the short delivery period of customer requires. It is often the simple experience design in the design phase, the lack of scientific accounting, the lack of feasible and effective quality control and inspection means in the manufacturing stage, it is difficult to ensure the quality and reliability of the product. Because of the unstable operation of the automatic line, the maintenance and production costs of the customer's equipment are multiplied, and the significance of machine replacement is lost, which seriously affects the customers' confidence in the use of domestic robots; on the other hand, due to the lack of effective design and accounting, It will also make some parts of the product redundant design, resulting in high manufacturing costs.
In this paper, the project of automatic machining unit developed jointly by domestic manufacturing enterprises of gantry industrial robots and famous machine tool manufacturers in Japan is discussed. The project takes the automatic machining unit composed of machine tool, gantry industrial robot and material storage system as the target product. It’s mainly discussed how to improve the quality stability of the gantry industrial robot products, reduce the cost and improve the technical level of the products, it is also summarized a set of effective design method and production process quality control method of the gantry industrial robot.
In the design accounting method chapters, accounting methods of the servo motor, reducer, guideway, cable carrier, gear rack transmission, synchronous belt transmission, and the material storage system of the gantry industrial robot system are discussed.
In the aspect of evaluation of the gantry industrial robot prototype, the measurement and evaluation methods of axis rigidity and axis positioning accuracy are discussed. The methods of precision measurement and quality evaluation of pallet material storage are discussed, the management method of product continuous operation experiment is discussed, and the management method of quality verification of the key purchased parts is put forward.
