College students are the intellectuals who receive the higher education; they are the hard core to burden the prosperity of the country and the power to realize the modernization of the country. What’s more, their level of social morality leads the level of morality in the whole society and represents the development of the culture in the era. They are special and burdening the sacred mission. It is necessary to admit that the progress of social morality among contemporary college students is positive. However, it doesn’t mean that the unharmonious phenomenon in the society is being ignored. Extreme vicious incidents such as Ma Jiajue, Yao Jiaxin intentional murder cases are still exist. Morality anxiety and morality indifference tend to highlight. Disjoint morality anomie behavior such as cognition and behavior anomie problems, these extreme incidents challenge people’s moral bottom line and tremor people’s moral conscience. Nowadays, with China's reform endeavor at a crucial stage, the society will face benefit adjustments at a deeper level and a greater range. Consequently, the social morality of college students is confronted with the unprecedented opportunity and challenge. Compared with the moral value in the past, the current moral value of college students is more likely to be affected. Therefore, it is necessary to research the college students’ social morality construction in due time.
This dissertation based on the world outlook and methodology of Marxism. From the discourse perspective of global integration, this dissertation explores college students’ social morality and the meaning of the theoretical basis. And teases the development process of “GuoZi Sheng” in China’s traditional society and modern college students’ social morality. Based on the summarization of the current critical views abroad and at home, the author examines the current state of student’s social morality and analysis its formation. In the analysis of current state of student’s social morality and the achievement of construction of student’s moral system at home and abroad, a relatively completed sketch of current college student’s social morality is built. Furthermore, a practical path of constructing current college student’s social morality is proposed. The key achievements of this dissertation are listed below:
Firstly, basis on the theory of Marxism social morality, this dissertation proposes the practical contents and requirements of college students’ social morality. From the discourse perspective of Marxism social morality, this dissertation defines that the social morality of college students is the basic moral principle held by the “citizens” in the public sphere. It is guided by public interests. On one hand, it is specification means of social regulation; on the other hand, it is the practical spirit of self-perfection. The social morality of this group must govern the relationship between “meand me”, “people and people”, “me and the group”, “object and me” and “group and group”. And also, it should reflect the contemporary college students’ “life world” and social morality in the realistic situation. From the point of view, this dissertation regards “love life, to defend the dignity of life”, “polite, honesty, adhere to the unity of cognition and behavior”, “wholehearted devotion to public duty, stress justice and contribution”, “obey the law, maintain the authority of law”, “protect environment, pursuit the happiness of oneself and the others’ ”as the practical contents and requirements of college students’ social morality.
Secondly, this dissertation objectively and comprehensively examines the current moral situation of contemporary college students in China. In this dissertation, through the practical research, the author points out that the mainstream of social morality of contemporary college students in China is good. For the performance of “reasonable morality belief”, “gradually develop a citizenship”, “enthusiasm towards public welfare” and “enthusiasm to participate in voluntary activities”. However, the tributary of “make extremely vicious incident”, “morality indifference tend to highlighted”, and “the separation of cognition and behavior” still exist. On this basis, the dissertation rationally analysis the causes of contemporary college students' social morality anomie behavior and the causes are as follows: the fussiness of moral belief, modern vitality of traditional moral culture declines, the weakening of moral function under the condition of market economy, the defection of school education on social morality and the absence of social ethics system. At the same time, this dissertation argues that compared with the past, the contemporary college students’ social morality shows some new features i.e. “coexistence of noble and secular”, “coexistence of the ego and self”, “stability and fluctuation”, “positive and indifference”.
Thirdly, this dissertation strategically constructs the framework of social morality of contemporary college students. Based of the contemporary college students “life world” and the social morality in the realistic situation, this dissertation argues the construction of social morality of contemporary college students should follow the direction of cultivating public character and shaping noble moral personality. Also, the logical starting point should be the horizontal coordinate of history. From the discourse perspective of global integration, this dissertation innovates the contents and requirements of the construction of social public morality of contemporary college students. At the same time, this dissertation breaks the traditional social morality structure traditional which is "conscience oriented", proposes the contemporary college students' social morality should combine "emotion" and "reason", and integrate "power structure", "guide structure" and "regulatory structure". The creation of the social morality structure should be of all-round and multi-angle. The specialty, importance and value pursuit of college students determine the construction of social morality of contemporary college students must be based on and stick to the bottom ethical line and pursuit a higher level of virtue realm. Furthermore, based on the life situation of contemporary college students, from four dimensions of “target”, “content innovation”, “structure creation” and “realm of genesis”, this dissertation establishes a relatively completed framework of contemporary college students' social morality construction.
Finally, this dissertation explores the new paradigm and practical path of constructing the social morality of contemporary college students. Collaborative construction which is a new paradigm of constructing the social morality of contemporary college students is presented. The construction of social public morality of contemporary college students is a complicated system project. The integrity of the system, the consistency of the internal factors, the self-organization of morality system of college students, and the universality of coordination theory determines the feasibility of “collaborative construction”. This paper based on Haken's synergetic theory, through multi-angle, multi-level explores the practical path of constructing social morality of contemporary college students. From the perspective of system and the citizen ethics bidirectional protocol, to realize the collaborative construction of "social morality needs, social morality, social morality cognition emotion, social morality environment and social ethics system". Among them, inspiring morality needs is the motive force of the construction of social morality of contemporary college students, cultivating the morality cognition is the premise of the construction of social morality of contemporary college students, nourishing morality emotion is the core of the construction of social morality of contemporary college students, optimizing the morality environment is the power of the construction of social morality of contemporary college students, perfecting the social ethical thrust system is the guarantee of the construction of social morality of contemporary college students. Only by promoting the related factors to work together and coordinate with each other, the construction of social morality of contemporary college students can be improved from disorder to order, and maximize the development of contemporary college students’ public personality.
