Translated Abstract
The growing socio-economic development brings increasing challenges to the contemporary college students, it has been an increasingly frequent phenomenon that the college students encounter frustration. This paper makes a preliminary investigation on the source of stuedents’ frustration and the basic situation of coping styles, based on synthesizing the research at home and abroad.
The results show that, the source of frustration which the college students have to face mainly contain: study, relationships, emotional love, economic issues, graduate employment and etc, the source of frustration has significant differences according to the varieties of grade-levels, gender, homeplace, etc. With the grade’s growing and relationship frustration’s decreasing, the frustration of graduate employment increases obviously at college junoir and college senior, the source of frustration from emotional aspect accrues apparently at sophomore, and drops off somewhat at college senior. Girls have more sources of frustration from study, amativeness, relaitonship, and graduate employment. The students whose homeplace are urban have more frustration of relationship than the students whose homeplace are rural, while, the latter students have more frustration during the process of study, amativeness, economic issues and graduate employmen.
The results of this paper find that, the coping styles which the college students adopt when encounter frustration are basically identical, that is taking the coping patterns such as solving problems and seeking help as substantial, furthermore the coping pattern of solving problems and seeking help improve with the increase of grade. The coping styles such as solving problems, self-blame and evading frustration between boys and girls is a little different. Girls are more inclined to do the coping styles such as seeking help and fantasying than boys, while boys will more often take the rational coping styles than girls. On the coping styles such as self-blame and fantasying, the college students whose homeplace are rural and the students who come from urban do not show apparently different, the former students will more often take solving problems and rational coping styles, while the latter students will do the coping styles such as seeking help and evading frustration. The children who are not childsingle have higher scores than the childsingle children on the factors of solving problems, while the childsingle children have higher scores apparently than the children who are not childsingle on the factors of evading frustration and seeking help.
This paper, utilizing the research results, analyzes the methods of improving ability that the college students do the coping styles when encountering frustration at the angle of social macro-environment, college system, family education atmosphere and individual students. At the same time, this paper analyze the frustration of learning type, interpersonal type, affective love type, family economic type and graduate employment type one by one according to the different sources of frustration, and provides the concrete coping methods.
