After 2006, with the outstanding performance of commercial banks have been listed, the comprehensive strength of China's commercial banks have stepped to a new level, its profitability has been significantly improved. Although the 2008 financial crisis had a huge and far-reaching impact on the global financial industry, many banks have been closed down due to difficulties in operation, but the commercial banks in China have resisted the impact of the financial tsunami. After the crisis, with the arrival of the economic new normal, the degree of interest rate market continues to deepen, the downward pressure on the profitability of China's commercial banks are also increasing. What factors affect the profitability of listed banks in China, the extent of its impact, is worth studying. Moreover, it has important practical significance for China's listed banks to further enhance profitability, maintain a high level of profitability and find a new profit growth point.
This paper selects 16 listed commercial banks from 2007 to 2014 as the sample. Firstly, this paper makes a descriptive analysis of the current situation of the listed banks, which is the basis of theoretical research and empirical research. Then the listed banks divided into state-owned commercial banks, the joint-stock commercial banks and listed city commercial banks, with the panel data model, the empirical analysis of the relationship between the three types of listed bank profitability and the related factors, discussed these factors the influence extent and direction. According to the results of the empirical conclusions and puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions.
The empirical results show that the net interest margin and capital adequacy ratio has a significant positive impact on China's listed commercial bank profitability, non-performing loan ratio has a significant negative impact on China's listed commercial banks' profitability; GDP has a significant positive impact on the state-owned commercial banks, asset size, rate of non-performing loans the state-owned commercial banks have a significant negative impact; net interest margin, the proportion of non interest income and assets have a significant positive effect on the national joint-stock commercial banks, non-performing loan rate and GDP have a significant negative impact on the national joint-stock commercial banks; non interest income has a significant positive effect on the listed city commercial bank, asset size, non-performing loan ratio and cost income ratio of city commercial banks have a significant negative impact. The conclusion of the study shows that China's listed commercial banks should develop a interest income at the same time, and further develop non interest income, strengthening the cost control level and the level of risk management, to achieve the scale of a rational expansion, so as to improve the management level, to achieve profitability growth stability and sustainability.
