With the globalization of competition. The competition of the global manufacturing industry is becoming more and more fierce, and the competition among OEM and ODM is particularly prominent; To improve the production efficiency and reduce the cost is the key to get profit and survival of the enterprise; The shop floor facilities layout plays an important decisive role in the logistics, production capacity, production efficiency, and production cost of the whole production system, it’s the core functional block in the production system; The reasonable workshop facilities layout will directly affect the aspects of material handling cost, equipment and space investment and the cycle time of incoming to shipment.
It is feasible to reduce the cost of production by applying the mode of mass production insteadof small quantities and varieties with the development of group technology. In order to fulfill this requset, the thesis is worked on the group technology of the workshop facility layout of the mobile protection factory. And keep the production task finished on time and got the goal of improvement.
In this thesis, It mainly studies the optimization scheme of factory inner shopfloor facilities layout at one of the factory of Cosmo industries(Dongguan)Co. Ltd . It firstly analyzes the status of facilities layout and the problems of the factory caused by the layout of product principle. According to the application of GT(group technology),This thesis divides current various products into two group cells. And then calculates all functional block components of logistics intensity base on the application of SLP(system layout planning). draws the related functional block layout flow chart. It initially identifies the initial plan by drawing the related area chart of operation unit; then, two alternatives are proposed according to the problems with actual production reality, and the best plan is finally confirmed by using the AHP(analytic hierarchy process)method; taking the best plan as the model, to make the improved mobile protection cover facility layout chart by combine the workshop and specific equipment dimension.
The thesis compared the performance between the new layout project’s introduction of the company workshop base on the application of GT and before, And the data shows that it does a good help on below aspects: saving factory space 26.8%, reduce factory equipments investment 21.5%,and improve the factory working environment with the same production efficiency. It is concluded that the implementation of group technology in the factory is correct and is successful. Also, it must be useful for internal same type of manufacturing enterprises’reference.
