Translated Abstract
With the rapid development of China‘s automobile industry, environmental and energy issues have become increasingly prominent, which forces designers to pay more attention to improving engine performance. Engine structure is complex, there are various loads and changing operation states during its working processes, so it is difficult to carry out simulation on engine. Cylinder block and cylinder head, as the main engine parts, have great influences on the overal performance of engine. The thesis uses numerical simulation method to analyse the engine, study the design & optimization of cylinder head and sealing performance of cylinder bore/piston ring. The thesis firstly analyzed the working condition and got four typical operation states of engine. By analyzing the loads and using numerical simulation method, the author accomplished the thermal analysis. The engine’s comprehensive stress was calculated by direct coupling method. Secondly, on the basis of these, the author took cylinder head as the research object, built a cylinder head topology model of inline four-cylinder engine and verified its effectiveness, and studid the heat-load bearing characteristics of the topology model. Then cylinder performance such as thermal, structure stress and mass was analysized, and an optimization on the comprehensive performance of cylinder head was carrid out. Thirdly, the structure of cylinder block was studied and a simple model were proposed, and cylinder bore deformation and the sturctural parameters was discussed to optimize the cylinder block. The contact pressure of cylinder bore/piston ring was also calculated to determine the sealing performance. Finally, the coolant flow test platform was developed to test the coolant flowing state. The study on the design and optimization of automobile engine can be applied to the design process of other engines, which provides new ideas and methods for engineering design. The study on cylinder head also proposes reference for the design of other complex mechanical products.
