Permanent magnet AC servo motor with fractional-slot concentrated windings is a new type motor with particular stator structure. This kind of motor has high efficiency, high power density, simple structure and prodution process and high performance-price ratio. So it has predominated in the field of Permanent magnet servo system. Foreign research and use this kind motor first, our country follow later. although there are some manufacturers producting and useing such motor, but the analysis of such motor in our country is still not deep enough, some problems remain unresolved, such as the loss, vibration and noise cogging torque. So analysis of such motor is necessary. in this paper some problems of this kind of motor are in-depth analysised and researched on.According to the problems found in the actual design and applications, firstly, fractional-slot concentrated winding theory and the motor structure has been analysed and abtained the constraint conditions of the slot/pole and tables about the commonly used fractional-slot concentrated winding slot/pole number combinations and basic parameters. Secondly, the MMF and winding coefficient of fractional-slot concentrated winding has been analysed and abtained the magnetic potential harmonic amplitude requency spectrum and the winding coefficient tables, summarizes the distribution characteristics and variation of the magnetic potential harmonic and winding coefficient. Again, the cogging torque of the permanent magnet AC servo motor with fractional-slot concentrated windings is analysed, obtain the nature an law of the cogging torque and put forward a number of practical and usable way to weaken the cogging torque. Finally introduce and intial discuss the intrinsic unbalanced-magnetic-pull(UMP) of the permanent magnet servo motor with fractional-slot concentrated windings.Finally, according to the task of the Shaanxi “13115” project, using the analysis results of this thesis designed a Permanent magnet AC servo motor with fractional-slot concentrated windings ,and then tested the EMF, efficiency characteristics, cogging torque, the test results proved the analysis results is correct and serviceable.
