Abstract :
Mislevy's sociocognitive perspective on assessment argues that examinees' linguistic, cultural, and substantive (LCS) patterns serve to organize their ways of knowing and their knowledge construction. In this study, we used a purposefully designed prompt to obtain essays from 70 Chinese undergraduate English majors and 66 American undergraduate students to illustrate LCS patterns conveyed in texts produced by students in collectivistic and individualistic cultures (i.e., China and United States). We found that linguistically, compared to American students, Chinese students used more adjectives, adverbs, modal verbs of obligation, and were more direct in offering value judgements; culturally, while the texts from the two groups yielded overlapping themes, there were clear group difference in the rank order of number of codes for the themes and in the supporting text for each theme; substantively, there were noticeable group difference in the conceptualizations of how the themes were related to each other. Because it remains unknown how cultural and substantive features expressed in L2 essays may affect writing assessment, these differences presented both challenges and opportunities for the field of writing assessment. Implications for the equity and validity of L2 writing assessment were discussed.

Abstract :
This work provides an enhanced attention model by addressing the drawbacks of standard English semantic analysis methods. This work provides the semantic component analysis and intelligent algorithm structure in order to investigate the intelligent algorithm of sentence component-focused English semantic analysis. In addition, the whole process of intelligently analyzing English semantics is investigated. In the process of English semantic analysis, semantic ambiguity, poor semantic analysis accuracy, and incorrect quantifiers are continually optimized and solved based on semantic analysis. It improves the accuracy of English semantic analysis. In the long sentence semantic analysis test, improving the performance of attention mechanism semantic analysis model is also ideal. It is proved that the performance of the proposed algorithm model is obviously improved compared with the traditional model in order to continuously promote the accuracy and quality of English language semantic analysis.

Abstract :
通过语言人类学理论分析网络文化中语C群体与她们的话语生产,可以寻觅语C这一年轻女性所独有的叙事方式和隐性话语,解释网络与现实中身份如何通过语义和符号机制筛选、搭建、产生相应的话语霸权、虚拟形象及主体的相互倾轧等问题。语C群体在近十年发展中,呈现出相悖于身份政治话语的寄生式叙事,形成了隐秘团体内部的高度自治、内容丰富的特质,且已初具商业效益。语C文本的寄生性映射出形象的可寄生性,从而实现了不依赖会话者身体却可行的话语"自由"。语C的实质是去主语化的共情和解码,是对自身和他人的情感投射,是对于憧憬的书写。网络文化中语C群体形成隐秘而良性发展的聚落,为破解身份政治的迷思提供了新视野。

Abstract :
Existing research suggests that parental absence per se does not have a main effect on children's cognitive development. However, this body of research is confounded by decreased family finance resulted from parental absence. Further insights on children's cognitive development can be gained by studying situations where parental absence actually leads to higher family finance. China's rural left-behind children (LBC) are uniquely suited for this purpose because of their extended separation from parents who migrated to work for better family finance. The participants were 74 LBC (M = 9.99 years, SD = 2.66) whose parents both migrated away for work within six months of their births and 74 non-left-behind children (NLBC) (M = 10.03 years, SD = 2.58) of similar backgrounds but whose parents never migrated. We used the 4th Edition of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-IV) to individually collected data on the children's Verbal Comprehension (which includes Similarities, Vocabulary, and Comprehension subtests), Perceptual Reasoning (which includes Block Design, Picture Concepts and Matric Reasoning subtests), Working Memory (which includes Digit Span and Letter-Number Sequencing subtests), and Processing Speed (which includes Coding and Symbol Search subtests). We found that the LBC scored lower than the NLBC on the language Comprehension and Vocabulary subtests of the Verbal Comprehension Index (Cohen's d = 0.41; p = .01). Subsequent General Linear Modeling analyses revealed that for the Comprehension subtest: (1) dual-parental absence significantly and negatively predicted Comprehension scores and (2) monthly family income significantly and positively predicted Comprehension scores for the LBC but not for the NLBC. For Vocabulary subtest, only dual-parental absence was significant. Overall, these results offer a deeper understanding on the effect of dual parental absence and changes in family finance on different domains of children's cognitive development.

"意境"说的出现与唐代律诗属对形式的成熟有关,而这种成熟了的属对技巧又与汉字结构背后所体现出来的表述原则相连.合体字如"会意"、"形声",是一种拼合构字法,造成了语言的"声"与文字的"形"的时空合构,产生了汉字"声"、"形"互动的"并置呼应".这种"时空合构"的"并置呼应"原则,影响了诗歌的文体,促成律诗属对形式的成熟,引发了对文本内部诸时空元素多维呼应的"象外"之境的追求,从而导致了"意境"说的应运而生.同时,"并置呼应"不只是个形式问题."并置"之中的"呼应"本质上体现了自古以来的"情志"传统,是"情志"在诗歌中的激荡,与儒家的"皇道"以及释、道的"道"妙都有关系."呼应"是"并置"的初衷和目的,是律诗之美和"意境"的"味外之旨"得以实现的基础和动因.

Abstract :
当今国际科技编辑界和写作界普遍主张使用主动语态,尽量少用被动语态,使科学论文的文字生动、清晰、信息突出.通过对比英美和中国生物医学期刊中各200篇论文的英语摘要,发现尽管被动语态在中外期刊英文摘要各部分的出现频率相同,但国内作者存在滥用被动语态的问题.本文分析了被动语态滥用的原因,从语篇和修辞的角度探讨如何避免被动语态的滥用,指出我国医学写作应当与国际惯例接轨,才能更好地进行国际医学学术传播和交流.
